When Boy Meets Tree!!

Can I just start by saying "No more winter camps"!! Dave and Ryan went up Logan canyon last night to experience what was supposed to be a "survival" camp in the snow for the scouting program. Now if you know the Wallis family at all you also know...we're not campers!! Dave got off work early yesterday to come home and pack....that took a little over an hour! We found out soon enough that because we aren't campers our equipment was mediocre at best!! Anyway...we got them packed up and on their way to the winter wonderland!! Of course I have no idea what happened between 2:00 yesterday and today...except for the fact that my son came home looking like his face had been put through a meat grinder!! I don't know if you can see very well from this picture...but the whole side of his face, nose, and mouth took a beating!! He got the bright idea to sled down one of the hills...needless to say he only went down once!! Now what about a tree infested hill screams "let's go sledding"?!?

I've Been Bug Tagged!!

I've been tagged by my sister-in-law! The rules: Name 10 things that bug you, then tag 10 people. I tag Amy Cragun, Katy, Jocelin, Michelle Elison, Suzanne, Stef, Ronda, Denise, Jana, and Darc!! I left some of the ward so you guys still have people to tag! Hope ya enjoy hearing what BUGS me...and I hope you still love me after!!

1- It makes me laugh out loud when Celebs think their kids are going to be so cool that they can give them names like Apple, or Hazel and Phineous!!

2- When my kids use the words "I can't"!! I want them to believe that anything is possible!

3- The way that taking the Lord's name in vain has become commonplace! You can't even turn on a kids show anymore without hearing it 15 times!!

4- This might be more of a phoebia...the seats in the movie theater. I see them clean the floor, (kind of) but never the seats!!

5- Addresses with names instead of numbers!! Now just how are we supposed to find that?!?

6- The fact that Dave won't join Facebook!! Come on...you would love it!!!!

7- My Durango!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty sure we have it in the shop more than we drive it! We're trading it in this week I hope!! That DOESN'T "bug" me!!

8- People who make-out in public! Um....uncomfortable!!

9- When my kids lose the tags to their Webkinz....before we adopt them!!

10- Bon Jovi....just kidding Jana!!LOL I knew that would catch your attention!!!!

Real #10- The fact that Ryan in 7th grade has surpassed my mathmatical skills by two years!! He's doing Algebra people...leave me alone!! Ok...I'm done being bugged......can't wait to hear everybody elses!!

This one goes out to the one I love....

So....this is our announcement, but the company that did them wanted to use it in their book, so they had to change the names for privacy reasons. Our original is in a scrapbook, so this is the one I had to use!! I know you all covet the HUGE hair!! Don't ask me what happened to this picture...I'm a first time scanner!!

One kid later...

Two kids later...

Then we had three and four at the same time!!

So there is a quick glimpse of the past 14 years!! Dave and I celebrated our 14th anniversary on January 13th....yes we got married on Friday the 13th!! I don't mind telling you that it was the best day of my life!! I promise you that particular day is not cursed! Dave is the best man I know...He's an amazing father...He's kind...fair...selfless...fiercely loyal...and honest in every way! He is the hardest worker I know! He leaves his shoes on until he gets into bed just in case somebody needs him, which is both endearing and annoying!! Don't get me wrong...we both have our faults...as I'm sure you all know, but who wants to hear about that?!? Besides..it would take too much time to name them all!! Mainly, I just wanted to let him know that I love him, and I'm one lucky gal!! Ok...he leaves his clothes on the floor every night, and he never hangs the towels back up!! Still love ya just the same babe...and here's to 50 more fabulous years!!

The haircut unveiled!!

I didn't get the first cut....it was traumatic!!

Taking shape!!
The back is so cute!

So here's what a majority of you voted for!! Take a look at this!!!! My friend Marci is a miracle worker!! I went to beauty school with her, and she has been doing my hair ever since! She even did my hair and nails on my wedding day...I just love her!! When we walked in, she took one look at me and she knew that this was going to be rough on me! When she made the first cut, I thought that I was going to throw up! A few minutes into the haircut I started to settle down and realized how cute it was looking. I would have never chosen to do this, but Hailey knew exactly what she wanted and she never once lost this cute little smile on her face! I have to admit....I'm so happy! She looks adorable....and now we're both smiling!!

The results are in...

So...I just counted all of the votes! Drum roll please............Hailey killed me 10 to 7, then we had 6 neutrals! I'm not surprised to be honest with you! She has an appointment today at 12:00, so check back later and I will post a pic of the new do!! Wish me luck....no tears, no tears!!

To cut or not to cut...that is the question?!?

So what's with the bubbles? Every time I take a picture with the brown paint...I get bubbles!! Anyway...now that I have cut everybody's hair in the house except for Dave and Hailey's, I am asking you....Do you think that I should cut Hailey's now?!? She has been begging for my friend Marci to cut her hair for about 2 years now! I am a little nervous, but I told her I would put it to a vote! Here's my argument...#1-She has natural curly hair, and short haircuts end up even shorter on her.#2-I would have to wake up even earlier than I already do in the morning to acually style her hair instead of the casual ponytail or bun!! GASP!! Her argument is....she wants longs bangs and shorter hair, and I guess it is her hair!!(kind of!!) Before all of you vote, I guess I better give you a better idea of the cut she wants! She wants long bangs,(not too bad, nothing a bobby pin won't fix if needs be) and an A-line cut starting from mid-neck in the back. Super cute in theory, but can someone else come get her ready in the morning if the votes go her way?!? I want you to know we decided to go completely off of this vote...so her hair is in your hands!! Also...whatever you vote, I will be happy with it so be honest!!

What does your hair say about you?!?

Jake and Abbi right after their new haircuts! I think it's hilarious how Jake is looking like a tough guy!! Or maybe a womanizer... "hey there pretty lady!!" Abbi didn't want to feel left out, so I cut a couple inches off for her too!! Cute little midgets if I do say so myself!!!!
So here is what the post is all about...you might have to click on the pictures so they're big enough to see!! I cut my Dad's hair for him all the time but I don't have a cape to protect him from the hair....so I put a garbage sack on him!! NICE! So...while he was helpless and at my mercy...I gave him a mohawk!!!! If any of you know my Dad, you'll know that this is funny stuff!!!! Nothing wrong with Grandpa having the same haircut as his 3 year old grandson, right?!?!?

Introducing Gracie!!

Here she is in all her glory!! 7 pounds 2 0z. and 20 inches long!!!!
My trooper of a sister Michelle with Gracie, and Bradley.

Sweet Gracie!!

So my little sister has finally passed me up in the kids department!! She has blessed our family with another sweet little angel, Gracie!! This is her cute little (or not so little)family! Matt, Michelle, and the kids...Khari, and Bradley in the front, and Kourtnee, Gracie, and Tyler in the back. They are going to be the best big brothers and sisters!! Since Bradley doesn't quite know what her name is....or even who she is yet, he walks around saying "hi" kind of loud and right to her!! He is so cute! Little does he know....that sweet little bundle is about to rock his world!!!! I think that when Michelle brings her home, there might be some tears!! I am so proud of you Roo!! Welcome to this crazy world my sweet Gracie!!!!

Wish I came up with that...

This is hole #3 in Ryan's mini golf game!

Another angle of #3

Hailey got her clubs from Santa this year. She was so excited to use them since all of the golf courses seem to be closed for some reason!!

Jake did better than me I think!?!? Ok, I'm pretty sure that Jake has been wearing these pajama's since Christmas!! He loves them because Santa brought them to him! When he knows we're staying home for the night, the first thing he does is get into his jammies!! So cute!!

Don't ask me what the bubbles are in this picture!! It may be time for a new camera huh?!?!?!?!?I normally don't blog about family home evening for two reasons...#1-We are not consistant in our planning, we usually just count the fact that we are together. I know...I need a beatin! #2-They usually aren't this creative! I wish that I could take the credit for this one, but this was all my 12 year old sports fanatic!! Ryan created a mini golf course for us, and it was awesome if I do say so myself! I couldn't post all of the holes because I don't know how to post more than 5 pictures at once,(any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!) but what I can tell you is that it was beyond my skills in this particular area!! I took the maximum of five on hole 3!! ZIP IT!! It was hard!! I don't know if you can tell, but we had to hit it up the paper hill, then in a perfect world it was supposed to hit a box that he had angled just right, and finally it was supposed to magically fall into my planter!! YA RIGHT!! I have to say though...what an imagination!! There were holes similar to this one, and then there were holes that were obstacles around beds, or whatever else he could find! He really took his time to make sure it was going to be fun, yet impossible!! Ok,Ok...it wasn't impossible for them, but for me....I'm not a golfer ok!! Anyway, it was fun had by all!!!! Thanks Ry!

And what a year it was...

Let me just start by saying...sorry about the horoscope!! I have no idea how to erase that! Now on to the good stuff...Happy New Year!! We have had a great year! I thought that I would put together some of the things that we did this year, but I realized just how bad I was at taking pictures when I went to put it all together. Good thing I got talked into a blog, because now I will do so much better! I wish that I had all of the pictures to show just how many ball games we attended this year! Between Ryan and Hailey, let's just say that there were plenty to say the least!!!! Ryan played city league in the Majors, then he played all-stars, and he is on a super league team as well. I think that Dave figured he played around 53 games! Writing about this makes me look even worse. I can't believe that I don't have one picture of the team! Hailey plays softball, soccer, and takes gymnastics at the same time, so she is equally as busy. Dave coaches Ryan, and I coached Hailey's softball team, so we didn't play co-ed this year. Abbi and Jake finally made it out of the stroller this year! Everyone who has seen me down at the ballpark knows that this is a BIG deal! I'm not sure that they knew a world existed outside of that stroller until recently...too bad for me they had to find out! Now I see maybe half of every game as I am chasing them every direction!! Hailey was baptized this year! I can't believe it, where does the time go?!? Ryan turned 12, and the twins turned 3. Dave and I....ya we won't go there!! We are truly blessed! I can't even begin to tell you how fortunate we are.I know that times are tough, and the economy...blah.blah.blah!! It doesn't matter because we have the most important things right here with us, and that's what counts for me! By the way...I would tell you what my new years resolutions are, but then you would hold me accountable!!
